Spartanburg Unemployment: 11.6%

Just released today…South Carolina’s unemployment rate reached 11.5% for April.  The national unemployment rate reached  8.9% in April.  Click here  for the full story from the Spartanburg Herald Journal.

With layoffs and closing businesses, the number of unemployed workers is on the rise.  SCPL would like to help!

Beginning May 26 at the Downtown-Headquarters location, the Upstate Career Source will  hold the first of a series of FREE weekly Job Seeking Workshops.  These workshops will be held each week throughout Spartanburg County Public Library Branches.  The sessions will run on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 8 people per session.  The Headquarters’ session can accommodate 12 people.
